Social Media in the Workplace
Kim Maslaniak, HR Consultant and owner of KAMhr, will be presenting at the May 19, 2011 meeting of Lunchtime Leaders. Ms. Maslaniak’s presentation, Social Media in the Workplace, will cover the use of social media in recruitment and hiring, employee privacy, discipline issues regarding social media use and the key elements of an effective social media policy.
“With the growth of social media in today’s society, employers have to be aware of its impact in the workplace,” said Ms. Maslaniak. “Business owners are now aware of the valuable use of social media as a marketing tool, but they also need to be mindful of the effects of both the employer’s and the employees’ use of social media on the business.
