Davis Music Fest

Davis Music Fest
Started in 2011, the Davis Music Fest (DavisMusicFest.com) was a multi-venue one-day event. Twenty (20) bands graced the stages at five different venues in downtown Davis. The venues in 2011 were the E Street Plaza, Odd Fellows Hall, Sophia’s Thai Kitchen, Delta of Venus and Little Prague. Festival goers were able to choose from a number of music styles and energy levels ranging from swaying to head banging. The line-up for the Davis Music Fest included local bands like West Nile Ramblers, New Heirlooms and Uncle Tony, as well as Sacramento bands, such as Musical Charis, G. Green and Jake Mann, along with other popular California acts, The Blank Tapes (SF), Conscious Souls (Pleasanton) and Truth and Salvage (L.A).
Today, the Davis Music Fest is a three-day event that attracts musicians and music lovers from throughout the state. The 2016 Davis Music Fest is bringing over 40 artists to seven different venues in downtown Davis. This event is sure to be memorable experience for music lovers across the region.
The Davis Music Fest is coordinated by a non-profit organization called, Music Only Makes Sense (MOMS), “because we don’t make any money, get it?” Their purpose is to produce live music events to raise funds for the benefit of our local elementary, grammar, middle and high-schools’ art, music and performing arts departments.
Website Features
The Davis Music Fest website is an evolving entity. Each year, the website is restyled and re-branded to match the posters and logos used for the event. The image above is from the 2015 Davis Music Fest (#5). For 2016, the gritty industrial look continues forward with sans serif fonts and distressed backgrounds and fonts. The color scheme changed from the yellow and red of 2016 to a green and blue theme.
The Davis Music Fest website is also a collaborative effort. Content and supervision of the website comes from a variety of sources. Concert information comes from the event planner. The graphics lead is Kyle Monhollen from 2407 Graphics. Website support and final styling from Abaton Consulting. Information comes together into a single cohesive resource for music enthusiasts to learn more about the event and to stay up to date on the musical line-up.
