The Holidays are fantastic! Especially when there are festive lights and decorations that add to the spirit, fun, and love during this wonderful season.
With the Davis Holiday Candlelight Parade and Winter Wonderland kicking-off the Holidays, Davis Downtown's Window Decorating Contest provides and opportunity for local businesses to bring even more cheer to the downtown with some truely amazing Holiday decorations.
2025 Davis Downtown Window Decorating Contest
The 14th Annual Davis Downtown Window Decorating contest starts December 6, 2025.
The downtown will be alive with festive lights and window displays as part of the Davis Downtown Window Decorating Contest. Enjoy a fun and festive holiday shopping experience throughout the downtown.
For 2025, business be vying for the best decorated window in the downtown. The competition will be fierce. Many of the businesses have participated in past window decorating contests and their creativity is unbelievable!
A secret team of judges will be visiting participating downtown businesses in search of the best decorated windows. Who exactly are these judges? Nobody knows for sure. Perhaps they are consultants from the North Pole; experts in holiday decorations. Whoever they are, they will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for the contest.
My recommendation for the Window Decorating Contest is to come downtown, enjoy a nice meal (perhaps a Badmash Burger at Falafel Corner or the Creamy Miso Burger from Red 88), visit a few of our locally-owned retailers and using your Davis Downtown Gift Card to pick-up some Christmas gifts, grabbing a cup of coffee or cocoa at Mishka’s or Cloud Forest Cafe, and then stroll through the downtown while viewing the wonderful window displays.
This year, the Davis Downtown Window Decorating Contest runs from December 6, 2025 through December 31, 2025.
The Winners are In!
Downtown Davis were in full effect this holiday season. The creativity of our downtown businesses came alive for the month of December. All of the windows of participating Davis businesses were not only wonderful, but really helped give Downtown Davis that "holiday feel."
I hope you were able to take a stroll through the downtown to see the amazing displays and to shop and dine.

2024 Davis Downtown Window Decorating Contest
As I mentioned before, this will be the 14th anniversary of the Davis Downtown Window Decorating Contest. Created in 2012 by Stewart Savage (Yes, that would be me, patting myself on the back), Executive Director (former) of the Davis Downtown Business Association (DDBA), the contest was designed to bring life and excitement to the downtown and encourage people to visit, shop, and enjoy the center of our community.
