A tip of the hat to Sierra Health Care Centers for anticipating customer needs.  At the recent Celebrate Davis! business fair, Sierra Health rose above the noise and stood out as customer focused.

While I was struggling with carrying a bottle of water, brochures, business cards, and a variety of other advertising materials, a voice in the crowd shouted out, “Do you want a bag?”  Putting all of my stuff in a bag was certainly a brilliant idea and took the promoter up on his offer.  Life was much better.

It got me to thinking about how important it is to find a way to stand out in the crowd.  While other vendors at the fair were busy pitching their services through give-aways and contests, Sierra Health Care Centers took a markedly different approach.  They focused on helping a customer (or potential customer) by solving a problem.  They saw a person burdened with the many things that fill a persons life.  Handing out bags to people struggling with too much stuff showed that they care and know how to help.
